Does anyone have any memories and indeed photos of St Anne's School in the late 1920's, early 1930's

I've seen a photo somewhere of a internal shot circa 1920, can't remember where but will have a dig about. Wasn't this an all girls school until 1928 when it then merged with the Barrington?

Was there more than one St Anne's School or was it reorganised at some point ? I wasn't aware that there had been anything other than Barrington Secondary and St Anne's Primary. Didn't the old St Anne's on Kingsway/South Church road have "Boys" and "Girls" entrances or am I thinking of somewhere else ?
It's confusing enough with the 1974 changes:
King James + Barrington = King James
Vinovium + Woodhouse Close = Bishop Barrington
but I believe that this was due to the C of E insisting that the Barrington name continued - presumably Bishop Barrington is still officially a C of E school ?

I should have said St Anne's Primary which was indeed at the corner of South Church Lane and Kingsway

If my memory serves me right there was only one entrance to the old St Annes school, cockton Hill had different ones as the girls and boys were in different buildings.

hi I do recollect that there was two entrances to St anne's school on Kingsway, apart from through the main gates on South Church road. The Boys entrance was on the far left coming out of the assembly hall adjacent to Mrs Grey's class (we are talking 1950's here) the girls entrance was right on the corner where the school turned into south church road, although they were never used as such when I was there, the teachers were in order of rotation from the infants Mrs Robinson, Mrs Atkinson, Mrs Grey, then Juniors Mrs craddock, mrs Swan, Then the dragon I still cant remember (my memory has scrubbed her out) then Mr Clayton. I have an Idea the Headmaster was a Mr Stevenson

I heard last week that the school is in line for demolition in the near future. The County Music Service are moving out soon. I thought that it would have been a listed building.

i was at st.annes 59-62.the main thing i remember about it was the games you played as a young boy .stivvies, where you tore up fag boxes and rearranged the shape of the box and flicked them towards aw all and if you landed on top of another stivvie you won the lot.fag cards,i had loads of them,i ussally got mine from out the packet of tea.some of them were quite good, birds and fish ect.marbles where you always had a favourite coloured one and you hated playing it incase you lost.amazing how simple things could amuse you for hours.and just outside of st.annes was the bus stops where people wating for buses threw away their empty fag boxes.treasure for the boys hunting for new stivvie material.funny how i can not recall much about the teachers.but i always have a soft spot for st.annes.
